Satinka was our first Malamute. She provided us with a great introduction into
the world of Malamutes as well as the Dog Show world. As a pet, Satinka was the
perfect dog. She gave lots of doggy hugs and kisses and loved it when she
received many in return. Satinka often ambled up to visitors nuzzling as close as
possible in order to get a pat. When our house was being built, she was often
found outside "helping" the tradesmen.
Although we waited for what seemed an eternity, Satinka came to us at the tougest time
in Olivia's life. Satinka always managed to lift Olivia's spirits when she needed it the most.
We are eternally grateful of her for being part of Olivia's life. Having Satinka in our lives
has been more important than winning the most prestigious of dog shows. She was the one and only
Satinka...irreplaceable. Nothing ever bothered Satinka - she was the ultimate house dog.
In the show ring, Satinka was a successful puppy having received 4 Baby Puppy
in Group awards. At AMCNSW Championship Specialty Shows she has received
two 2nd place ribbons and a 3rd place ribbon in 2002 in the Australian Bred
class. In September of 2002 she competed in Victoria at the Melbourne Royal
and the AMCV Championship Specialty Show receiving a fifth place and third place
respectively from the Open Class. In addition to this, Satinka won Best Brace with her
buddy, Mojo at the same AMCV Championship Show.
Satinka also participated out on the trail. She was a powerfully built bitch
that had no trouble achieving what she was bred for. She had plenty of reach
and a powerful rear that provided lots of drive. At the age of 5, in June 2004, Satinka was awarded her
Working Dog Title (WTD).
18 months after losing her best buddy, Mojo, they are together again
running the fields of heaven.
